MARCA by BolognaFiere Set to Start in a Week

MARCA by BolognaFiere, one of Europe’s largest private label exhibitions, is scheduled to take place during January 16, 17 in Bologna, Italy.

MARCA 2019 is expected to build upon the success of the previous edition which saw a total of 9,358 visitors and 706 exhibitors. This accounts for an increase of 21% and 15% respectively compared to the 2017 edition. Moreover, the fair is bringing a large number of foreign delegations from over 19 different countries.

Private labels are a major focus at the convention. According to BolognaFiere, the private label sector has witnessed an ascendant trend, gaining in excess of a 19% market share, which constitutes a five-year high with the growth of a half a point on the previous year. Private labels are increasingly morphing into genuine brands in their own rights, that are more than capable of responding to consumers’ needs just like industrial brands.

Moreover, MARCA by BolognaFiere is set to offer workshops and conferences that will discuss the central topic of packaging, starting with the convention “Packaging and innovation: methods, brands, and markets” organized by Milan’s European Institute of Design that will take place on January 16. MARCA will additionally host the ADI Packaging Design Award which recognizes and showcases the most innovative packaging solutions.

The organizers will also present the MARCA REPORT, compiled by Nomisma and IRI, scheduled for January 17, 2019.

The event will take up a total of five pavilions at the Bologna Exhibition Center including the usual 25 and 26 pavilions. However, this year the exhibition will spread further out to also include pavilions 28, 29 and 30.

In anticipation of the occasion, the Exhibition Center has been renovated and enlarged as part of a project worth up to EUR100m.

With only one week to go before the tradeshow, interested parties can still send in their application to participate, by using this link.
