The frozen food warehouse operated by integrated logistics provider Partner Logistics in Gloucester has been re-accredited with the British Retail Consortium’s (BRC) Global Standard for Storage and Distribution for the fourth consecutive year.
Perceived as the ‘gold standard’ in the food industry, the BRC accreditation covers areas such as quality management standards, good operating practices and hazard & risk analysis and provides the essential certification link between the range of BRC manufacturing Standards and the end user, the retailer and the food service company.
To maintain the BRC accreditations at the Gloucester site, annual two-day audits are overseen by Partner Logistics Health, Safety, Security, Environment and Quality (HSSE&Q) team. Currently all six deep-freeze facilities operated by the firm in the UK, the Netherlands and Belgium hold the BRC global standard.
Claire Cocking, health & safety officer for Partner Logistics in the UK said: “The auditor was extremely complimentary about the operation standards and traceability process at Gloucester and we are delighted to have achieved the prestigious accreditation for the fourth year in a row. It is a big achievement and shows our customers that we are committed to ensuring best practice in handling, storage and distribution whilst promoting continuous improvement.”
The Partner Logistics Gloucester facility has a capacity of 72,500 pallets and operates at temperatures down to -28°C. The site is fully automated and designed to the highest environmental specifications.
