The UK’s main annual event for the ice cream industry – the Ice Cream and Gelato Expo – is coming right up next month.
The tradeshow will be held between February 14-16 at the Yorkshire Event Center in Harrogate, and it is organized by the Ice Cream Alliance (ICA), an association which aims to promote and support the production, vending and consumption of premium ice cream products.
After a prolific 2018, most of the ICA’s members (79%) are looking positively towards 2019. The only possible concerns have to do with the looming Brexit.
Even so, according to a recent survey, the majority(58%) of the Alliance’s member base – admitted they don’t know whether the Brexit will have a major impact on their business. But the ice cream industry does have a strong opinion regarding how the government is handling the Brexit. 60% believe the “British exit” is being managed badly, while 39% have gone with “averagely”.
This year, the Ice Cream Alliance is turning 75 and the upcoming expo will be the 69th it has organized so far. The tradeshow is the only ice cream-focused event taking place in the UK. Attendance is free for those in the ice cream business. However, interested parties will still need to pre-register on the official Ice Cream Alliance website.
