Frozen vegetables processor Rolli of Italy has won the Silver SIAL Award for product innovation. Under the brand Industrie Rolli Alimentari SPA, the company was awarded Silver for its Pesticide Free Frozen Vegetables in Paper-Based Bag.
“We are extremely pleased with this award, which comes as a recognition of our efforts in not only processing pesticide-free frozen vegetables, but also growing them ourselves under soil conditions that are completely free of any pesticides,” said exclusively for Frozen Food Europe Giuseppe Rolli, the company’s representative at SIAL.
The winning range of products, namely frozen vegetables from an Eco sustainable chain are packed in a biodegradable paper bag and are pesticide residual free.
“We are using agricultural techniques with low environmental impact on air, land and water in order to obtain this range of mostly private label products, which target countries in Europe and in other regions of the world,” said Rolli in an interview with Frozen Food Europe
The range includes very fine peas, very fine green beans, minestrone, sliced courgettes, cauliflower florets, spinach leaves, broccoli florets, mixed grilled vegetables, artichoke hearts, IQF spinach, grilled aubergines.
